…Friday riddle…

I’ve been hit by lightning, clogged with quarry elements, subjected to gag orders by work stoppages,  and even abducted for a brief period of time.

Despite all of this, for 107 years I continue what I do to the delight of Vancouverites and visitors.

The crests of King George III of Great Britain and the Earl of Mulgrave adorn me while witches of Woolwich thoughts of being out of their elements might ring a bell.

Fans of the 1974 tv series “Good Times” who remember  its main character JJ’s favourite word to describe himself will be well on their way with a clue to solving today’s riddle.  So timely, some clues can be.

Today’s riddle answer really is a blast from the past.  Do you think you’ve got it?  Don’t forget that a stitch in time saves nine!

I am Vancouver’s  well known:

…Friday riddle…

Vancouver is such a beautiful and dynamic city that one needs to always be on the lookout for something to see.

You’ll know me more as a destination location within where an estimated 8 million people visit per year.

Our first nations ancestors referred to me as “Schi ‘lhus” in reference to my position.  When you are visiting me you might feel you are standing tall but for the trees.

Vancouver’s famed Lions Gate Bridge, north shore mountains, and a sad tale of a Beaver are never far from the mind of a keen observer.

Miners discussing me might say I made myself clear validly.

Where/what am I?
