…of ‘America’, commutes, & poppies…

….”I thought I was just scared of Trump but it’s his America that I fear”..”I have a dream job but the commute is a nightmare”…”Poppies once meant peace, but now serve to sanitize war”…

So go the headlines on a first Friday in November!

SOMETHING ABOUT“misogyny, racism and bigotry won’t go away if Donald Trump loses next week’s election; it was already here before he drew it out into the mainstream”

SOMETHING ABOUT“I have given up my hobbies and am tired a lot of the time, but working from home isn’t an option”

SOMETHING ABOUT“It’s time to change remembrance traditions to refocus on how we care for the victims of war – to remember what the flowers of Flanders Fields were for”

In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place: and in the sky
The larks still bravely singing fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.

We are the dead: Short days ago,
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved: and now we lie
In Flanders fields!

Take up our quarrel with the foe
To you, from failing hands, we throw
The torch: be yours to hold it high
If ye break faith with us who die,
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields.
-John McCrae

Cheers to a Fine Friday that sings–discerned;

Take up the torch and hold it high!

Stand tall!

Decidedly Fine Friday & weekend!
