…of ‘Little Italy’ & wind…

…”Italian Day draws throng to Commercial Drive–which may get a new name soon”…

It seems yesterday’s sunny Sunday was the perfect setting for some 300,000 Italian festival goers extended across 13 blocks of a flavour filled area of our city! Apparently there’s a movement on to officially designate that area of ‘the Drive’ as ‘Little Italy’, an endearing namesake it’s had unofficially for years!

Cheers to Italian Day on the Drive—“not just the busiest, but the best!”

I just got wind of the fact that today, June 15th is “a day when wind energy is celebrated, information exchanged, and adults and children find out about wind energy and its power and the possibilities it holds to change the world.”

That’s right, it’s Global Wind Day sponsored by the European Wind Energy Associaton (EWEA) & the Global World Energy Council (GWEC).

If you’ve never been up North Vancouver’s Grouse Mountain wind turbine it’s well worth a trip for the spectacular panoramic view & learning about the latest turbine technology.

Christina Rossetti, 1830 – 1894

Who has seen the wind?
Neither I nor you.
But when the leaves hang trembling,
The wind is passing through.
Who has seen the wind?
Neither you nor I.
But when the trees bow down their heads,
The wind is passing by.

Cheers to a marvellous Monday & remember “turbines are a wind-wind solution!!”
