…of schools & Lunar New Year & every day life…

…”Vancouver private school enrollment spiked during teachers’ strike”…
…”Vancouver’s Asian Catholics get dispensation to celebrate Lunar New Year”…”Long list of Canadian small businesses wait for cash as Target’s cheque bounces”…

Interesting to note that the Christian season of Lent & the sombre day of holy obligation. February 18th, known as Ash Wednesday coincides with Lunar New Year this year.

“What do you do when one of the most sacred and serious days on your religious calendar comes at the same time your ethnic brothers and sisters fully expect you to eat, drink and be merry?” So begs the question in today’s media…

Vancouver’s Roman Catholic archbishop in offering dispensation has suggested observing a different day of fasting and abstinence for Ash Wednesday. either Wednesday, Feb. 25 or Friday, Feb. Feb. 27….

Cheers to family & friends & celebrations that smile—YES to all that shall be!

Teachers’ strikes & corporate reorganizations, just some of the ongoing sagas of every day life in our world…
