…all on a November Friday…

…”Mayor’s race for control of Vancouver heats up”…”Finance minister won’t promise more money for BC Ferries”…”Walter the rescued sea otter makes a new friend at the Vancouver Aquarium”…

The push to the November 15th civic elections are in full force and the ‘politicing’ is getting heated not only in Vancouver, but suburban communities such as Surrey too.

‘Rise above the rhetoric’ resounds our psyches and vote with a conscience that reflects clear thinking beyond the sound bites and the pundit pandemonium!…

Cheers to get out and VOTE!!!…

Seems that BC Ferries needs to find $45 million over four years to tie the ferry rate increases to remain with inflation.

A significant cost consideration for sure. Closing terminals? Reducing fleets? Impacts on local communities? Terminal upgrades? Not questions with easy answers, most certainly.

In the meantime, cheers to fit-to-be-tied CEO’s with ‘hands tied’ ’til more taxpayer

On a lighter note, there’s Walter!…

Or Wally as some like to call him…

“Rescued sea otter Walter made a new buddy Thursday as he was introduced to Tanu, one of the resident otters at the Vancouver Aquarium.
The two sea otters swam and splashed together, the socialization being the latest step in Wally’s long road to recovery after he was blinded by a shotgun blast near Tofino in October 2013.
“Walter and Tanu are responding well to each other and we are pleased to see Walter socializing,” said head vet Dr. Martin Haulena”

Cheers to a fine November Friday & second November weekend that goes swimmingly!

However you elect to fill your weekend, may your subsidy to all, that’s your sunny disposition, sing–we get by with a little help from our friends!!
