…known unknowns…

“Parents forced to live with uncertainty as school strike persists”…”Ignore No More app wrong”

At least in British Colubmia it seems parents are generally taking a ‘continue in summer mode’ stance, not having confidence that anything will be done in time to resolve the teachers’ dispute for back-to-school just after Labour Day.

The purveyors of school supplies and traditional back-to-school sales will go ahead “as usual” according to most retailers. Meanwhile parents of younger schoolchildren struggle with the unknowns for the fall, many international students flounder in uncertainty around visas, and the soon to finish high school kids wonder about all the implications for post-secondary applications.

Indeed a dilemma the known unknowns and the unknown unknowns, you know!?!…

Apparently there’s a new app out “Ignore No More” that makes it impossible for kids to ignore parental calls by locking their smartphones until they get in contact!!

Now doesn’t that just sound like a wonderful tool for resolving family discord!…..NOT!

Cheers to mutual respect and trust—think about it kids/parents, & change-it-up, real change—happily ever after!!!

Some folks are wise and some are otherwise. ~Tobias Smollett

Anyway, no drug, not even alcohol, causes the fundamental ills of society. If we’re looking for the source of our troubles, we shouldn’t test people for drugs, we should test them for stupidity, ignorance, greed and love of power. ~P.J. O’Rourke

On a lighter note, Cambridge University in the UK is advertising for a PhD candidate position for someone with “a good academic aptitude, engineering & physics skills” to tackle a 3 year project examining “how chocolate can remain solid and retain qualities sought by consumers, when stored and sold in warm climates.”

Cheers to “fundamental understandings beyond industrial need!”…..
