“290 Unsolved British Columbia Lower Mainland Murders in the Last 12 Years”…”Vancouver School Board to convert school parking into pay lots”…”Hundreds of Teachers Across British Columbia Receiving Lay Off Notices”…
Just a few of today’s fine headlines for a fine Friday…NOT
And as if that’s not enough, some Vancouverites will recall times past when it was very controversially said that the “creme de la creme” of Vancouver citizenry would not tolerate trains running again on Vancouver’s west side Arbutus corridor. It appears that CPR crews have been surveying and cutting brush along the line that runs from the Fraser river 11 kilometres into Kitsilano with the intention of putting it back into service.
No doubt concerns among residents, dog walkers, and gardeners on the greenway along the line are gaining traction….
A certainly puzzling statistic to me, says that 630 educator position layoffs in the Coquitlam school district is the equivalent of 91 full-time teaching positions. Say what?!, and at the same time Vancouver School board contemplates a boost in “printing fees” for other school districts & the public sector, and a boost in rental fees for gyms, classrooms and multi-purpose rooms.
Is it just me, an educated guess perhaps, or does some of the nonsensical of it defy explanation?…
On a more positive note supposedly, a high end condo redevelopment in Vancouver’s west end will see a historic tulip tree stay while 18 other mature trees are removed to make way for a parking garage!…
As Friday rolls into a Mother’s Day weekend let’s say three cheers for all mothers!
Mom’s the word!
A mother is a person who seeing there are only four pieces of pie for five people, promptly announces she never did care for pie.
The most important thing a father can do for his children is to love their mother.
A Mom’s hug lasts longer after she lets go.
