I once heard it said that we all have some inner hero within us.
None us have to look very far to see individuals or groups or communities in need.
How often do we see it but not act for all kinds of reasons?
Fears, risks, costs, sacrifice….they can all make us hesitate to our consciousness calling us to action.
Heroism has been described by some as “extraordinary acts by generally ordinary people.”
Poet John Donne wrote: “No man [or woman] is an island entire of itself; every man is a piece of the continent, a part of the main; … any man’s death diminishes me, because I am involved in mankind. And therefore never send to know for whom the bell tolls; it tolls for thee.”
Can those words inspire us to shift our focus from “me” to “we”?
Each of us are a part of humanity. Our own pulse part of humanity’s heartbeat.
There’s goodness in our veins!
Cheers to an extraordinary day!
