It all adds up to a push for national standards.
“The failure of a growing proportion of Canadian students to understand even the most basic math concepts is strengthening the push from some educators to adopt national standards, improve teacher training and return to teaching basic equations.”
Canada ranks 13th internationally in math scores, down 3 spots from 2009, and 6 spots from 2009.
Reminds me of that kid’s song Inch Worm!—“Two and two are four, four and four are eight, Eight and eight are sixteen, sixteen and sixteen are thirty-two…”
“Tis not the season of marigolds, but summer beckons in the New Year less than 30 days away!….
An advertisement for Vancouver’s upcoming Push Festival caught my eye yesterday as it’s start date is shared by a good friend expectant mom’s due date!!……Push! Push! Push! ……just what is the Push Festival you might ask?……”Vancouver’s festival for the Performing Arts!”….You can check it out here for its 10th Anniversary season!….http://pushfestival.ca/
Cheers for a wonderful event!…..”150 performances, 7 countries represented over 20 days!”…14th January-February 2nd!
Mathematically speaking, with Advent now in full swing, the countdown to Christmas has begun!
Sometimes, I think we all need a nudge,-a push or gentle reminder about what the Season is really about!….Hope, Peace, Joy & Love….
In the frenzy that’s so easy to get caught up in, is it possible to pull ourselves away from some of the consumerism and maybe change just one or two of our habits of being about the Season??
We live in a world where hope & optimism is far too often, on so many levels, easily dimininished. When things get tough, remember—- ‘you can do it!’….

and one last ‘wintry’ theme & beyond….:

Cheers to a mid-week Wednesday that whispers, helpfully & caringly —–“push”…
